ABOUT BROOK
Brook Banham is the founder of the Middlecott Sketchbattles and Sketchbattle JR. He teaches design sketching for undergraduates and Pre-College Summer Classes at the renowned design school College for Creative Studies.
Brook is currently a professional designer who has worked for companies like Jeep, Ford, GM, and many other Fortune 500 companies.
After graduating in 2001 with a degree in transportation design from Coventry University, U.K., Brook started his design career working around Europe in the automotive and footwear industries, including Puma, Germany, and Fila Sport SpA, Italy. He moved to San Francisco in 2004, engaging in freelance design for firms such as Frog Design, Astro Studios, Sony Entertainment, Volkswagen, and Mattel/ HotWheels, plus many others. Brook relocated to Detroit in 2010 to complete a graduate degree in Transport Design at the College for Creative Studies. Following graduation in 2012, his wife, Judith, formed their small design studio, Middlecott Design LLC, in downtown Detroit. Brook has since worked with clients such as Delta Airlines, Hasbro/ Transformers, Ford, GM and Mercedes/ Daimler Trucks, Nike, Puma, Adidas, and many more.
Brook and his work have been featured in periodicals such as Time Magazine, Wired Magazine, Hour Detroit, Creative Review and in NBC’s hit TV series Mobsteel and History Channel’s Detroit Steel.
